My 4 month old Custom Built pc has been working fine but for the past 2 weeks games are running extremely slow, it takes at least 20-30 minutes for a level to load in any game i try out,and when it does load textures take time to fully load while playing, other programs still open up and run fine.
These are my Specs
AMD Athlon II X4 640
8GB RAM
Crosshair V Formula Motherboard
ATI RADEON 6850 1GB
SEAGATE 1TB SATA HDD st1000dm003
Windows 7 64bit Service Park 1

this is what i have tried so far:
-Checkdsk
-Tried different SATA cables
-Tried different SATA Ports
-ReInstalled Catalyst Drivers
-Removed cmos battery
-defragmented HDD
-updated BIOS Firmware/SATA controller drivers
-Tried everytype of virus scan
-Tested HDD with HD Tune and i get an avarage of 85 mb/s transfer rate
-performed a virus scan and

this has been driving me crazy,I would really appreciate any help!

1. How much free space do you have on the drive? (If you start running out, windows starts moving stuff around trying to find space.) 2. You migh need to defrag the drive. (I allways defrag after a new game install and I've seen brand new windows installs that needed defraging.)

OP said he defragged already, but you have a valid point about the drive being near full/full. He may need to offload some files to another drive if this is the case.

on my c:/ partition where windows is installed ,i have 9.52 GB free out of 48.72 GB and on E:/ where i store all my games, music, movies etc i have 250GB Free space left out of 882 GB , Do you think i should try and clear out some files on c:/??or 9GB is still sufficient on that particular partition?

Tried that, still no difference, but yesterday i decided to try out some other games, i installed bad company 2 and it run completely fine,so did half life 2 ,Call of duty 4,Grid,Darksiders 2, so i thought only older games had no problem but when i tried out gta iv it took forever to load and textures still had to load during the game, so i'm wondering why do 80% of my games have this problem but the rest don't?? can this be related to bad disk sectors on the hard drive??
