wifi connected but no internet

my laptop is connected to my modem router,it shows connection but will not connect and it says that DNS server is not responding.so i can't access internet.pls help me

Where are you getting your DNS from? Are you using DNS servers from your ISP?

Unplug your wireless router, and your modem. Wait 1 minute.
Plug the modem back in, wait 1 more minute then plug your wireless router in and wait another minute.

See if your laptop can connect. If it can, great. If not then plug your laptop directly into the wireless router or the modem (either one works but you will have to restart the modem if you plug into that) and see if you can connect.

If the other suggestions haven't worked try setting your dns server address on your adapter settings to either 208.67.222.222 (opendns) or 8.8.8.8 (google dns server)
