I am thinking about not getting the 660ti and just getting the 660 instead. Its for use with a i5-3570k. Is the pairing of that cpu and the 660 ok? Or should I go with the ti version?

Solution
The Ti version will be able to max games for longer before settings will need to be lowered. The gtx660 not Ti might struggle on max settings in more demanding games currently.
Your cpu is as strong as it gets. For a balanced gaming pc, look to spend twice your cpu budget on the graphics card.
Following that rule, you might look at a GTX670.
But, we all have budgets. Just buy the strongest card you feel comfortable paying for.

That's completely incorrect. The biggest bottleneck in any system is almost always the primary hard drive. Any modern graphics card will not be bottlenecked by any modern GPU.
