I have a toshiba satellite pro c650 and I wanted to switch to a SSD. I have no idea about computers, so I have no idea what kind of SSD I should get. If you need more info to help please ask.

My minimum would be 120-128GB. 64 is just a little too small, especially in a laptop.

I understand that, what I am confused on is the type. I have seen things about something like SATA, and that means nothing to me. I was looking for more of what would fit.

SATA is the type of interface...the 'plug' as it were. SATA I/II/III are different levels of SATA speed and throughput, III being the newest.

So how would I figure out which one it is?

Personally, I run a 60Gb Agility 3 with no problems. Windows 7 and a few programs, 16 gb free... That being said, a friend of mine was the one that originally bought the 60gb, then later sold it to me because he ran out of space, then he bought a 90gb, ran out of space again, and ended up shelling out near 200 euro for a 256gb drive.... KNOW HOW MUCH SPACE YOU USE. I have all my games on another storage drive, (yes, steam and origin are installed on that drive, not C) and all my music is on my HD as well. Dont go too small, and if you do go small, make sure you know how to save stuff in other places...

I'm not exactly a power user nor do I care about storing many games/media. After installing all the necessary things I need, I had room to spare for 4 full games (Warcraft III, Last Remnant, Bioshock, DA: Origins), leaving me still with an excess of 32 GB. Most of my other media are on hard drives. My SSD size: 120 GB, so that's the very comfortable minimum I suggest. Anything above that I consider lavish. In the end your needs may be different.
