Do my components devalue the GPU? Bottleneck?

Hello,

I recently bought an HD7850, have it installed, and it seems to be working properly- but I am not wowed by the performance (and I used to have a GT220).

So my question is: Do my other computer parts suit the GPU I installed? Are they holding it back? What parts (if any) should I upgrade in order to use it's full potential?

I use my computer as a gaming console and would love to be able to play the two games that the GPU came with without lag (Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite). I have been maxing out all of the settings on these games seeing no difference in performance when I play on Low to Ultra (mostly for Tomb Raider).

Here are my current specs:
CPU- Intel Core i3 540 @ 3.07GHz
RAM- 6.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 531MHz (7-7-7-20)
Hard Drives- 699GB Seagate ST3750528AS ATA Device (SATA)
Motherboard- Dell Inc. 033FF6 (CPU 1)
Monitor- DELL ST2010 (1600x900@60Hz)
GPU- SAPPHIRE 100355-1GOCL Radeon HD 7850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP
PSU- OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W Modular
Operating System- Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Antivirus- McAfee

Sorry I meant gt 220. Thanks for the 5850 benchmarks (since the 5850 is similar to the 7850) but it doesn't compare the i3 540 with possible upgrades- thus leaving me with unanswered questions about performance differences between different combos of CPU and GPU.
