Hey guys, Im looking for the best gaming headset or headphones with a mic for my laptop. I really want it to be wireless so i dont have to carry around cables. Since it is for my laptop and im mainly using it when im not at home or dont feel like getting out of bed,:p i dont mind the "sucky audio quality" that is usually associated with wireless headsets

I had already done my own little research and had decided between the logitech g930 or the corsair vengeance 2000

but I want some input from people who actually know what they're talking about, unlike myself

Thanks for the help:D

Find good headsets by looking at multiple reviews on various sites.
I believe a good headset requires these things:

1. Good audio quality because if you ever listen to music, you want it to sound good.
2. Directional mic, so the person or persons you are speaking to don't hear too much background noise on your side.
3. Comfortable fit, self explanatory.
4. Over-the-ear, noise isolation.

Optional:
5. Multidirectional audio (hear footsteps behind you etc.)
6. ANC (active noise canceling) very nice if there is a constant background hum.

Wireless would be ideal in theory, but apparently the quality is worse, and wireless are usually more expensive. If you do go wireless, do NOT use infra-red. I made that mistake once.

You still need...
Sometimes, I find myself using the mic more than the headphones. In this instance, I would recommend a set that fits loosely enough around your neck, yet still provides good mic access. Sounds like you have speakers already and are looking for a more convenient mic setup which is why I brought this up.

Could you recommend something? I share a room with my brother so I use the headphones quite a lot too for when i play at night or when he uses the TV. Which means that I would also like a set that isolates me from all other sounds.

Thanks for the help.

I don't have a good recommendation other than suggesting some noise cancellation if you are trying to eliminate "brother" noise. Typically, small ear sponges will yield more headband space for neck wrapping but, it is difficult to see this when ordering online. Sometimes, user reviews can reveal the qualities if you can't try them on first.

You still need wires with wireless headsets. The only difference is the wires are not attached to the headset. There will be wires between the computer and the transmitter and between the power outlet and the transmitter. If you want wireless for portability, you're making a mistake. If you want wireless so that you can walk about a room freely then that would be a good reason for a wireless headset.

All in all, my recommendation: Asus Vulcan ANC
