Ubuntu can connect to the internet but XP can't on the same machine

I have a Toshiba Satellite A305-S6906 that I bought at a yard sale for $20. It didn't have a hard drive so I used one I had lying around. I installed Ubuntu and XP on the hard drive. Ubuntu works great. The internet, wired and wireless, works correctly. But when I switch over to XP it doesn't recognize that I even have an ehternet port or that I have wireless capability. Like i said, I know all the hardware works because I can use it on the Ubuntu side, but When I switch over to XP, I get nothing.

Thanks for the quick response.
I went to the Toshiba website and downloaded the Realtek wireless LAN driver, put it on a flash drive and opened it inside of XP. It seemed to work, in as far as it pulled up a window with a download bar and completed, but after it finished the box just closed and nothing was different. Is there anything else I need to do, or did I not download the right driver?

It was probably the wrong driver - it can be REALLY hard to find the right ones, sometimes. I don't suppose you happen to have a manual or the driver disk that would tell you what wireless chip you have?

Weell... shoot. And you've tried plugging it into an ethernet cable and running windows update?

Shy of that, there's not much you can do other than keep trying toshiba's drivers.

Well that's one of the problems, the ethernet port is out to, again only in windows not Ubuntu.
