Asus GTX680-DC2-4GD5 GeForce GTX 680 4GB or EVGA GeForce GTX 680 FTW 4096MB

I'm upgrading the graphics card on my rig (Acer Predator AG3620-UR318 3.4 GHz Core i7-3770 with 12 GB DDR3 SDRAM) from an NVIDIA GeForce GT 630, and am trying to decide between the ASUS and the EVGA 680 4GB cards.

I'd buy a GeForce GTX TITAN if "the finance department" (aka my wife) would let me get away with it.... :)

  1. Go with whichever has the best cooler, that would be my deciding factor. That, or whichever has the better factory overclock.
  2. they are both top notch... doesnt matter which you choose but I agree with ismaeljrp. get the one which has faster frequency. I'd go for asus, they look sleeker :D if you care about the looks lol

The Asus DC2 has a great cooler but the extra VRM phases on the EVGA Classified would have me leaning that way. In order of preference:

    EVGA Classified
    Gigabyte GV-N680OC-4GD
    Asus DC2*

If ya wanna please the wifie for a very small tradeoff in performance, I'd grab the 2 GB 670, and in that category, I'd take the Asus at the 1st place position
  4. Or you could get two 670s, they work better than one 680. Or one 670 and then overclock that I7 (and put a heatsink on).
  5. Was going to go with the EVGA Classified, but the price jumped across the web by ~$100 overnight! Bought the ASUS instead...
