For air cooling on a budget, it's hard to beat a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo at $33. You can add a second fan later if you want to lower the temps even more. If you are thinking water cooling, there are many closed systems ( you never have to deal with the water ) from $50 to $150, but you will need to be careful with fitting the radiators to your case.

Well a custom loop would lower the temps even more. If you want to spend that will give you lower temps compared to air and a way cool looking tower.

I am using Hyper 212+ and temps reached 52C max now in ambient temp 28C. Cooling dsnt care to much about Ambient compared to air.

So the verdict : Have the money go for it.

Do you need to cool the i5-3750k if gaming? Does the stock heat sink/cooler do fine or not when gaming for hours? I am also going through the same questions. I just bought a 3 fan computer case, and have relatively new hardware with the i5 CPU, but dual(SLI)GeForce 8600 GTS(old I know)

I have heard SLI/Crossfire effects temps.
