3D accelerator issues

I've been working on trying to find a solution to this problem for about a week.
I cannot play some Big Fish Games--I get an error message "no 3D accelerator found." I am VERY FRUSTRATED-- is there a fix for this issue with Win8?

Normally it's either because you're missing graphic card drivers or, more likely, you're missing a 3D accelerator. I have to ask the daft questions of, what graphics card do you have in your machine?

Just in-case it's only a case of missing drivers, here's a couple of links

Have Windows 8 Gateway NV52L; AMD Quad Core Processor A8-4500M;
AMD Radeon HD 7640G with 512 MB Graphics System Mem; under devices it shows audio no video; hope I answered your questions

I wish I knew more about computers than I do. AMD Radeon HD7640G. I play other games with no problems but certain games give me fits. I have updated the drivers but still no luck. I have a love/hate relationship with Windows 8!

If these are older games you will have to try and run them in "compatibility mode"
Right click the .EXE for you game or right click the desktop shortcut and choose troubleshoot compatibility.
Depending on how old the game is you may have to try all versions before you find one that works.
