Just moved into a mother-in-law suite apartment, so I installed a PCI wireless adapter to replace my low-gain usb dongle. It's detecting a stronger signal strength, but I'm unable to connect. There's no security enabled. Appears to be failing at association? Not sure what to do.

Is there any way to confirm that without a second access point?

I meant more along the lines of confirming if the card was bad. It is currently set to obtain the IP address automatically, yes.

Yes, the dongle works fine without any adjustments, it just has less signal strength.
