Hello Forums,

It has come to my attention that many people fight over which graphics card is better (way too much!) and all I need is an honest answer on which graphics card performs better SOLELY ON PERFORMANCE. I'm in the market for a 400-450$ graphics card.
My current build:

Intel i5-3570 (no oc)
Corsair H60 (I know its overkill, i like it)
Asrock extreme3 ATX Motherboard
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8gb (2x4gb) ddr3 1600 RAM
Antec High Current Gamer 750w PSU
Asus 23 inch monitor (http://goo.gl/qmasM)

I intend on running ONLY 1 MONITOR. These are the two graphics cards :

Gigabyte 7970 3gb
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Gigabyte 670 2gb
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I would mainly be running games like Crysis 3 and Black Ops 2.

In the Future I intend to buy a second graphics card and run SLI/CrossfireX as games get more advanced. So, which performs better? Which would work better in my situation? Are there any alternatives that would be better?
Any response in much appreciated.

The 7970 will oust the 670 even at stock clocks.

Maybe so, but which would be better for Crossfire/SLI in the future?
