Ok, the parts I will be using are
1) Sound Blaster Z card...
2) Energy 5.1 Take Classic Home Theater System (Set of Six, Black)...
3) steelseries Siberia V2 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Full-Size Gaming Headset - Black (maybe this type)
4) MXL AC-404 Black USB Connector USB-Powered Microphone
The issue is why should I spend money on an a/v receiver...I have no video needs, just sound needs...So I was wondering, what piece of digital equipment should I get to be able to plug into the sound card so that my Energy 5.1 and some headset with or without a microphone also is plugged into it, so that I can switch between them on and off or both on and both off? I understand that a good a/v receiver could work but it is for video as well and maybe something like a mixer would work instead while being cheaper....What audio piece do I need to fill in the blanks?
