Other methods of testing a PSU?

My cousin and I are building a PC with the parts he received for his birthday. The Power supply is the Corsair TX850.

We are always very careful with everything, and very organized.

We've correctly assembled mobo, GPU, RAM, CPU, Cooler... Everything needing for a test boot, and the PSU will not power anything.

We've tried it with the 'bench' assembly, the case fans, even the paperclip method, but no matter what, the fan won't spin, and nothing powers on.
And yes, the switch was set to 'on' after everything was connected.

So, Are there any other things we can try that won't void the warranty?

Otherwise: It's getting RMA'd tomorrow.

Hi :)

Only thing left to try ...put it in ANOTHER machine...if that doesn't start..RMA it...if it does start, you got something in the build wrong...

Personally I think that PSU is fine...

All the best Brett :)

What in the build could cause the power supply fan to not spin? Also, we have tried power the case fans and the paperclip method, and neither worked.

Hi :)

Lots of things, but you NEED to test it in a WORKING MACHINE FIRST....

Then if its fine, we will go on from there...

All the best Brett :)

I just disconnected everything in the build I'm using right now, and plugged that PSU in, and nothing happened.

Are there any other external tests we can try? I'm using the old power supply in the build right now, the new one wouldn't power on.

We've double checked everything, connections, CPU orientation, RAM placement, and it's set up how it should be. We tried the paperclip method and powering the case fan. We also tried it in the build I'm currently using. No results.

Alright, nevermind. We got It working. It was powering this system.

So, forget what I previously sai.d It's warking. So what can I try to get the motherboard to boot to the bios? What in the build would've caused it?

Alright, forget what I previously said. It's powering on now. So, what things would've caused that? What in the build should be done differently?
