So i just had my first experience installing a Hyper 212 evo. While i was doing it i put a bit too much paste on teh cpu and it oozed out. i tried cleaning it off. When i started teh computer it said there was no CPU. Naturally I removed the cpu and looked inside. (i'm using a AM3+ with a Phenom 965) The damage was just one single pin hole had paste in it and one pin had a bit of paste on it. I carefully cleaned off the edges of teh socket/cpu and put it back in. This time the computer started fine. The good news is i'm idling a few degrees lower btu i haven't tested under load yet. My main question is. Are there any problems that i should be worried about or is it ok to continue as is? Thank You.

Yeah, i cleaned it off and put much less. My mistake was that i misjudged the consistency and thought i might as well go with it rather than start over. No regrets though because i learned froma mistake and thankfully didn't have to pay for it. Thanks for the answers!
