Hi guys,

I have a big problem...I just finished my new build and I got into this...
I managed to start the PC few times...it even booted my old OS with no problems BUT
1. On "restart" from windows it shuts down the PC and when I power it up the CPU led remains lighted(CPU wont POST) all the fans are a max speed...and I wait and wait and wait and nothing happens next....
2. ON reset it shuts down the PC and what happens next is at point 1.
3. ON power down from switch same problem...

All the above situations appear at random and after a random number of restarts it works again like nothing is wrong...

I have flashed the last BIOS from ASUS support website, I have tried different memory configuration(1 stick, 2 sticks, etc) anyway it sees the RAM OK when I manage to boot... I took the CPU out twice and re seated but no result...

In my opinion seems to be the motherboard...the CPU should not work at all (if it was its fault) but I even managed to run Windows... I have tried to use a different CPU fan in the CPU_FAN plug(I thought that maybe the swiftec watercooler does not report corectly...)

Do you think the PSU is to small for this build?...can this be a problem?

Configuration:
MB: Asus Sabertooth x79
CPU: i7 3930k
MEM: Corsair Vengeance 1600, CL9 (4x4Gb) rev.A
COOLER: Swiftech H20-320 HD Edge (just the CPU is cooled for now it shows about 32-35 celsius with only 2 fans running)
PSU: Enermax Modu 87+ 600W
SSD: Intel(can't remember the model)
GPU: nVidia 460 Direct CU II

any thoughts? Please help...

Hi,

Still no results. I cleared CMOS, I restart, I flash BIOS again(with succes), I restart, I clear CMOS again, I unplugged VGA, Sound(both of them ASUS), I umplugged all USB devices...I restart, I umplugged all memory again, I restart, I re seated the CPU, I clear CMOS...

After each restart there is no POST from the CPU, the led remains lighted but I can't get the PC to get to BIOS anymore... Last time it worked was last night. I flashed the bios, after one or two restarts it worked ok. I entered windows, prepared all disks for windows installation, restart(after restart it shuted down and down it is...no more POST from CPU). Monitoring the temperature on CPU it never got more than 35 degrees Celsius

I have no clue what might be...The bad part is that I have the mobo from a store and the CPU from another...I live in a small city where computer stores bring these kind of components on demand and I don't know where to test them to be sure what's the problem...
