So I decided to upgrade my system I put together last year because the 560ti is starting to show it's age. I have already asked around and the consensus seems to be to go with a gtx 670, so I think I decided on an MSI power edition model since I like my MSI gtx 560ti. I would also like to switch to a liquid cooled solution but I don't even know where to begin with that. Want to oc eventually but am afraid of the heat. The room the pc is in isn't very cool or have a great amount of airflow.

Pc specs
Asrock extreme4 motherboard
Intel i5 3570k 3.4ghz (stock speeds)
MSI gtx 560ti twin fozar OC
Silverstone 600w essential 80+
8G G.skill sniper 1600 memory
Corsair 500r series
Upgrade to gtx 670

IF you want the best cooling possible, you will have to setup a custom open loop cooler, the best you can get outside of that is a Noctua D-14, which is an air cooler that is top of line the aka. it performs better than a H100i/H110 and is quieter as well. Not to mention it's also cheaper. If you are worried about the tight fit the G.skill RAM is actually just right in this case so you are good to go.

Thanks for your reply. I love this site and community, such rapid and good responses. So if I go with the noctua would it really be able to keep my CPU cool. When I tried my hand at OC'ing before, when I hit about 3.9-4.0 ghz I was hitting 90C on the CPU. The highest I can go now and be safe is 3.7ghz. In this case would it be a better idea to go for liquid or will the noctua be enough?

Like I said, you should easily reach crazy OCs the stock cooler is not eve remotely suited for this overclocking. You could be looking at a potential 5GHz with the Noctua D-14 compared to the H100i/H110's 4.8Ghz tops. This is the best for safe temps and great overclocks. You should not get even close to 90c with this...

Wow that's amazing!! I will definitely go with that then. Lol I'm glad I came here. My original plan was to get a ftw 680 now for like 200 dollars less im gettin a 670 and a awesome cooler. Way more bang for my buck. Thanks a lot for your help.

I would say the NH-D14 is on par with the likes of the H100i in terms of performance.
Definitely cheaper though, suggest you go with that unless you want to get into custom water-cooling.

I also have a 7870, so I guess I can answer that question.
Its a great overclocker, no doubt about that. It will max out (4-8x AA) pretty much all intensive games at a decent 45FPS (BF3, Crysis 2 Metro 2033), lesser games like Assassins Creed, Bioshock Infinite all max out at 60FPS.
Though if your upgrading from a 560ti, suggest you get at least a 7950 or 660Ti. The 560ti is roughly equal to a 7850, so only going up one performance tier might not be worth it.
