Well, i wouldn't say my computer is brand new, but it's less than a year old.
I bought it as a Gaming Machine, specs being

Sapphire 7870 2G
Intel Core i5 3570 3.4 GHz

I bought it from a trusted website and it's come along fine, works well for the most part ect..

But ever since i've had it i've experienced a number of different crashes, along with a blue screen, one of the crashes happened while play Modern Warefare 3, everything froze, all sound went to a static and the computer fan sounded like it was in overdrive.

Another is when the display just turns off and says no more signal, then the fan will go into overdrive.

And just now, i bought Quake III Arena, and when changing the Graphics settings, (before i accept any changes) my screen will just corrupt and start flickering to a point where i can't do anything but turn off my PC.

These have happened throughout time but i don't think a new computer should be functioning like this, what could be causing it? Temperatures of GPU and CPU seem fine while running demanding games and all the drivers seem to be up to date. Hopefully i can get some advice, thanks.

it happens to me rarely where screen goes black and fans ramp up(then i have to reset). Its probably due to some surge of voltage hitting the gpu or something. I really dont have an idea, and i cant really replicate it on my end.

I doubt it's a real issue, just something random that happens, just wanted to know what might cause these.

" All of the drivers SEEM to be up to date". First, I would make SURE you have AMD's latest 13.1 driver, the driver on your sapphire disk is likely not new. AMD is constantly fixing bugs. I had a lot of problems with their pre-12.6 drivers. Make sure you uninstall the existing driver through the Catalyst Control install manager in the programs list and choose to uninstall everything including the install manager and restart. Then install 13.1. Download it first from AMD's site. The new driver will re-install the new manager. AMD does not make it clear that uninstalling first is very important.
