THe question is NOT what your monitor is.

What OS do you have?

If Win 7 then:

Right click desktop and select "Screen Resolution"

Then select advanced settings

A window will open. Select "Monitor" tab at the top of the window.

From here you can change your refresh rate

Any chance to connect the monitor to a different port, vga for example? The graphics card should identify it as a new monitor and set the refresh rate to default then.
