Sapphire 7870 xt - Looking for Insight in Graphics Card Purchase

Hi,

Recently my current EVGA 560ti graphics card is playing up, and the company I bought it from won't do anything about it. So I am currently looking at replacing it with
"Sapphire RADEON HD 7870 XT with Boost ".

Please note I am in NZ.

Also, I am not the most tech-savy person with knowing what is the best for my computer.

Link is here -> http://www.pp.co.nz/products.php?pp_id=AA44725

I am just wondering if this card is what I should be looking for. I was considering a 660 or a 660ti, but they seem to be a bit overpriced, and at the moment the XT is going for a decent price around $360 NZ.

The GPU would most likely be used for gaming (such as Crysis, SC2 etc.). At the moment using 1920x1080 resolution. Other components I have are
- Intel i5 Sandy Core 3.3ghz
- 8gb Ram

Other cards I was looking at was:

660 GTX OC: (~$315 NZ) http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=1408211

660ti (~$430 NZ)

I haven't used an ATI card before, so I am also a bit unfamiliar with it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please also let know if you need anymore information.

Wow, in the US you can get a 7950 for that price. There aren't a lot of differences between the cards, from the user end. Put it in, connect it download the drivers and there you go.

Look up the exchange rate then lol, NZD are worth less...

To OP,
I'm in NZ and looking at the same card, but they're disappearing! I'm going to buy from here:
http://bpcomputer.easyretail.co.nz/index.php?route=prod...
where it comes to $392 with shipping. Did you buy and is it worth it?

Hey sorry for the late reply. Yes I did end up buying it, and I think it was worth it. At the time I bought it for~$360 and it came with two free games so that is a plus.

All the reviews I had read on the product made it feel like a good buy in comparison to other Nvidia products. Its quiet and runs well.

Thanks that's great to hear, hopefully mine arrives soon :D
It's a pain that the prices have been going up, and I'm not sure on the situation of my order, because apparently they don't include the Never Settle: Reloaded games, so I asked to cancel... oh well, glad I chose this card however (:

I thought my card didn't include it too (AMD Reloaded Cards), but I was surprised to find it at the bottom of the box. Maybe you will get lucky with it too?

The games and all were included, but, I got the wrong card! Would not recommend this place. Gave me the Ghz OC Dual-X card which does not have the Tahiti LE core. So this will be fun to sort out....
