I started having problems with the PC freezing on boot screen (Windows logo, I use W7). But yesterday it went in too sleep mode as normal and then it would not be awakened (god I hope that's a word). And then I switched from my OC:ed sapphire 7850 (Also stock OC:ed) to my old 7750 and it boot's as normal. Could it be the drivers or did my card die? (I OC:ed it too as much as MSI afterburner would allow without raising the power limit, as I had read it was safe).

More about : wont boot gpu broken

Its possible that your PSU is no long pumping out enough watts to power the card anymore. The 7850 uses 75 more watts than the 7750.

Yes that might be it. Because I have been having some strange noises coming from my computer (think it's the PSU) like a steel fan was spinning against/on something (I'm horrible at explainning this in English since I'm from Sweden). Could it just be my PSU giving up?

That is a very strong possibility. If you have another computer to test the Video Card in, that would be best.

You could also try running the computer with the 7850 and unplug all other components except the video card and the motherboard. If it starts up, you know its the PSU.

Like CPU and HDD and everything except the GPU and MOBO?

Leave the 24 pin plugged in, leave the CPU plugged in and leave the GPU plugged in. Everything else should be unplugged. HDD, Fans, CD drives, ETC. USB's ports too. Anything that draws power needs to be unplugged to test it.

I do understand what I should do but not how I can know that it's the PSU by doing this?

If it starts up with everything unplugged, its a good indicator that the PSU isn't producing enough power.

Ooh now I see. Thank you. But if I unplug the HDD I have no OS? So then how will I know that it will/won't come past the booting screen? (Sorry for being slow)

Well, we don't need it to load the OS, we just need to computer to turn on. With everything plugged in, the computer wouldn't turn on at all, correct?

Yes it would boot but not past the Windows 7 boot screen.
