Need advice on new build

Firstly, i would like to apologise if this post seems too long :)

I will be progressively building this computer over this year, as i am a 15 year old and i cant get a large sum of money in a short time. while i could wait until i can buy the whole pc, it would take ages.

I know that nothing will ever be 'future proof' in the PC world, but i want this build to still be good in 3-4 years.

Budget Range: 1000 to 2000 NZD (800-1700 USD)

Will be used primarily for gaming, but i may need to do some 3d modelling and game development too

First build.

i already have a mouse, keyboard and monitor

i already have, included in my budget:
Corsair 500R, which i bought the other day.(170 USD :hum:, which was the cheapest i could get it)

Store: Dragon PC
http://www.dragonpc.co.nz/c.aspx

Even though this website may look dodgy, they are one of the cheapest stores in New Zealand, and my friend has never had any problems with any of their stock

Location: Christchurch, New Zealand

Parts:
CPU:
I am thinking of going with an I7. Based on reviews, it appears this is the best option since i will be doing some 3d rendering and game creation, as well as gaming. Im not biased towards AMD, but from what ive seen, intel has better performance overall currently. (I will probably wait for Haswell, but i may pick up an ivy bridge after haswell is released, when the prices drop)

Motherboard:
as i said before, i may get a haswell cpu rather than ivy bridge, making any suggestions of brand or type invalid due to LGA 1150.
anyway, my friend said to go with an ASUS board, but im open to changing brands.
also, micro-atx or atx?

GPU:
Nvidia or AMD, i dont mind, Nvidia = GTX 670, or 700 series. AMD = 7970 or 8000 series

RAM:
8GB minimum, brands?

Storage:
at least 1TB. suggestions? i have considered an SSD

PSU:
No idea, suggestions on brands, wattage?

Optical drive
dvd drives all around the same price here, so its mainly just a decision on which brand, again suggestions?

Overclocking: Yes, both cpu and gpu. i will be using a H100 or similar dual fan radiator setup to cool the cpu. Please dont tell me to build my own custom loop, i dont want to.

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe, would pick up a second 670 if the price is right

Monitor: Samsung 21.5 inch LED, 1080p, may add a second one in the future

Additional Comments: I will be running a fair amount of hardware intensive software, both games and other. I would like to run Crysis 3, BF4 etc, with a high frame rate even when maxed out, or close to it.

my laptop isnt fast enough to do what i need, and it struggles to run games from the last two years, even though it is a year old. - (25-40 fps, low settings on BF3 etc)

also, since i cant buy all the parts at once, what order should i buy parts in?
i thought psu, optical drive, storage, and then save to buy mobo, cpu, ram, gpu at the same time?

thanks for any advice or suggestions, bradley

thanks for looking up all those parts
that looks a lot like my list of parts that i had put together

so you would agree that the i7 is the better choice, over say an 8350?

im just not sure about buying expensive parts online and having them shipped, in case they get broken. but, if i can get parts for a lot cheaper, then why not

" i may need to do some 3d modelling and game development too"

Considering this statement I say i7 is your best choice, an AMD FX-8350 is great CPU but in tasks like 3D modelling i7 dominates the field

But if you think it's expensive you always can get i5-3570k and it will be WICKED for every task, also dominates the fx-8350 :

I would get that if i were you, but it's your choice after all
Best wishes :)

I think I missed where you said that you want an OS with this. So I left it out. In terms of purchasing order: PSU, Motherboard, CPU, RAM, HDD, SSD, Optical, GPU.
