Hi, I've recently upgraded to a Samsung 840 128GB SSD from a WD 1TB Black HDD, however, prior to the SSD upgrade, I was getting an approximately 1m boot time. But after the SSD upgrade, windows boot time skyrocket to about 2mins, with most of the time spent on the windows logo loading.

How is that possible? Isn't a SSD suppose to speed up windows boot time significantly? What am I doing wrong?

Also, I'm using the old HDD as a storage media now at D:/ if that info helped.

P.S. am using windows 7 for both scenario & SSD is plugged into INTEL 6GB/S SATA PORT on my motherboard

I've just restarted and checked, fast boot is enabled, as for splash screen it only takes 3 seconds, i'm ok with that.

FYI: I timed this restart, and I was stucked at windows logo for a total of 3 mins, how is that possible?

Sata controller driver? If you're talking abt Samsung ssd drivers that are included in the disc provided when I buy the ssd, yes, it is up to date.

If not, and you are talking abt some other drivers I need to download manually, then I guess that might be the problem. What drivers do I need to download?

I use an Asus P8Z77-V, a motherboard CD is provided, and I've installed everything except for "Asmedia SATA Controller Driver" because I didn't use the Asmedia port, I used the intel one, so I assumed it wasn't needed.

I just tried downloading the driver, and it apparently worked. My boot time improved significantly, thank you for your time :D
