Hey guys i am having problem with overclocking my amd A8-3870k APU.
here are my specs:

AMD A8-3870k Black edition APU@3.0GHz
AMD XFX Radeon hd 6670
ASUS F1A55 Motherboard
8gb Ram

I tried to overclock my APU's Core 0 to 3.4 GHz by keeping the multiplier at 17x and set the cpu voltage at 1.4V .After that i started the stability test at set it to something like 7 days and just within a few minutes a blue screen showed up on my screen saying that my system has been harmed and something like that then i restarted my computer and set them back to default.Guys please help me out because i bought this APU for its overclocking ability and i have even seen on youtube and other websites that it runs without any problem at 3.6Ghz.
Moreover i don't have any extra cooling system so please advise me the benchmarks to which i must overclock.

Do you have a aftermarket cooler? If not I suggest you get one like a cooler master TX3. Your APU could be getting to hot I know mine did when I OC to 3500ghz. Put a aftermarket cooler and bumped it down to 3400ghz and no more problems runs like a champ. I have the same APU with a 7750.

You can OC with the stock cooler but the APU will get to hot when you get past 3.4ghz to remain stable. Using a aftermarket cooler will enable you to OC higher because the APU will remain cooler. You can get coolers from $10 to $200. Most recommended is the Cooler master hyper 212 evo which runs around $30 us.
