mSATA drive question

Hi,

I am doing some preliminary research on my next laptop... potentially the next version of the ThinkPad T530 with a Haswell CPU. There is an option to configure it with a 16GB mSATA SSD which I assume acts as a cache for hard drive.

My question is can a mSATA SSD be used as the primary boot drive if I install something like a 256GB mSATA SSD? Meaning the OS will be installed there, and the hard drive itself is for solely for storage.

I know I can replace the HDD itself with a SSD and using a caddy adapter, I can replace the DVD drive with the HDD. Who knows, maybe I'll go "hog wild" and eventually configure it with 3 SSDs.

Thx
