I'm getting up in years and not too techsavy; but trying my hand at building a new gaming rig. I bought the Asus Sabertooth z77 with the Intel 3570k CPU. I was unable to DL the compatibility list from Asus, so took a chance an bought 16GB (2X8) of 1600MHz Corsair Platinum. Did I make a good choice? if not, can someone please steer me in the right direction, I would be eternally grateful for any help.
I mainly play simulators and I have read that an extra 16GB (setup as a cache) would really improve my gaming?

Again, I will be so grateful for any suggestions.

Would it be possible for you to post the part number for this ram? It should be on the label on the stick - something like CMP16GX3M2A1600C11.

IMO, you really don't need 16gig for any type of gaming, but it won't hurt you.

That particular part number does not appear on the approved list from ASUS, nor does Corsair show that number for the Sabertooth. That being said, I suspect it will function exactly as intended on your board. If you are nervous about it, drop a note to ASUS and or Corsair support and hope for a reply. As fast as memory changes, it wouldn't surprise me if either list was out of date.
