does charter work with 2wire?

You don't. Charter delivers across cable TV coax. It also requires a charter activated modem. You must have a charter internet account. If you did then you would have the modem and charter would bring the wiring to your location.

I do have a charter account they just set it up but I'm having a hard time discovering my wifi, Thought I Needed A Router For This?

Look at the modem that they gave you. If it has build in wifi it have the antianes on it already. If not you need a router and plug the modem into the wan port of the router.if the modem has wifi see if it turned off. Most good vendors put a label on the bottom with the ssid name of your wifi and it password.

With 2wire you may have to call them for them to remotely activate the wifi. They have this in place to charge you a monthly fee to access it. Have a freind that had the same thing.

If I were you I would get a modem only and get your own router. Those 2wires can be real headaches with range extenders if you ever do get the wifi working. :(

Ok so here it is direct from charter; New Internet Customers: For new customers, or existing
Internet customers interested in acquiring in-home wireless service,
we recommend you purchase a wireless router from a retail outlet.
I use charter and bought a router for my home wifi. The modem they gave you will hard wire connect to the router. Then you will be able to use the router for wired and wireless connections.
