Hello,
My graphics card encounters a critical error and without warning the power to the card is cut, i suppose this is a feature that prevents permanent damage.
It typically happens when i'm playing games, i have encountered this problem so far while playing: Starcraft II, Diablo III, Guild Wars II, Heroes of Newerth and World of Warcraft. Even when the settings are on LOWEST.
My screens no longer receives signal from the card yet everything else still works. My webcam (usb) that i use as a mic still works, (usb) keyboard and mouse still get power and i can still hear music. Rebooting gives me the graphics card error beep code and i have to reset the bios completely to even be able to boot again.
I ran furmark's burn in test and the temperature increases from 55 to 75 where it maxes out. It hasn't ever crashed while benchmarking with furmark or unigine heaven (yet).
The specifications of my computer are:
ASUS Nvidia GTX 295
Cooler Master PSU 850W (peak 1 kW)
Intel core i7-930 2.8GHz
Geil Black Dragon 6GB 1600 MHz
ASUS Rampage 2 extreme
I run everything on stock settings (for now).
I picked up on someone telling me this could be a mutual exclusion error, but i have no idea what causes this or how i can solve this problem at all.
Thanks for your help in advance,
Martijn
