Budget gpu for 720p gaming

Hi, I am looking for a gpu that can play all games on 720p. I don't necessarily want to max out games, I just want to be able to play all games on medium or higher with 40+ fps. I was thinking a cheap radeon 6670, would that get the job done? And also, this will be a temporary gpu. I don't want to spend a lot of money because I plan on upgrading to the hd 8000 series when it comes out. So I would prefer a cheaper end card. Thanks.

Would either of these be overkill at 720p? I just want to run games without lag, and this card only has to last 5 or so months when the new 8000 series comes out. Or, how long do you think the 480 would last?

What I would say is look for a 7870 card on the cheap. I have a 7870 hawk and love to oc the thing. But since you are only doing 720p, it should suit you for a long time. I can run crysis at ultra with 8x aa on 1080p at ~40 fps with a high oc. Seeing that the 8000 series will be quite expensive for a while when it comes out, I would recommend getting a 7000 series.

Hmm.. Could anybody recommend a card for 120 or under? Again I want to cheap out now (because I don't have a job yet) upgrade in a couple of months.
