Yes, it'll overclock AMD CPUs well. Good choice. Not sure about the "LOL" comment.

It will be fine for OC'ing, i use the Asrock 970 extreme4 board, which is the model below the board you chose in terms of pricing and chipset, and it is still fine for OC'ing.
