Has a price point been released yet and I have until early June to decide what to buy

I don't know about that, but SLI definitely has less stutter than Crossfire.

Per usual, there is more than just performance, i.e. framerates, when determining the "best" platform for gaming. We of course speak about the real-world "feel" of gaming between SLI and CrossFireX on a multi-display setup. There is no question that SLI feels smoother, thanks to the added technology that NVIDIA employs to address this very topic. That said, you can still have a good experience with AMD CrossFireX in Eyefinity given enough framerates. In those terms, this is where AMD CrossFireX has excelled today in our testing.

Of course if you play with v-sync on all the time, then they may be more comparable, as v-sync and FPS limiters help crossfire behave better, of course that kills performance as well, but it is better than stuttering.

You may be right. But, I was going by an article on this German website. Even if you don't read German, the graph shows what I was referring to. My German isn't as good as it used to be, so I may have missed something.

It's a lengthy article, but this page outlines the micro-stutter results. It shows the dual GPU card displaying less M-S than the SLI pair. I guess I just assumed the same would hold true for CF.

If you go through the FCAT data on Pcper.com, you'll see similar results between the 690 and 680 SLI, though they did not show their tests on the same article, but they did collect all the data at the same time, and showed them at different times in written form.
