What I mean by this is that besides the fact my monitor is technically working, you can see all over the screen double pictures like you would with a crappy TV. For instance almost all text I see on the screen I will see twice, and everywhere you see these second parts of text they're slightly faded out and staggered to the right by about a half a millimeter.

This isn't any serious problem, but as I just spent quite a bit of money to buy this monitor I wanted to see if there was a fix.

Specs if anyone needs them:

24" inch LG LED monitor.
1920 x 1080.
Currently using a GTX 660.

All drivers are installed and up to date.

I wouldnt know how to fix the problem but you can try to identify the problem, because it might just be your video card and not your monitor. Plug your monitor into something else like a dvd player or something just to see if it displays the image right. If it doesnt then you may need to refund your monitor. BTW the vanu suck...jk

OK, so I plugged it into a laptop and there isn't any issue, so the problem resides with my graphics card.. Could there perhaps be an issue with the cable and adapters I'm using? DVI-D to D-Sub adapter, which I wasn't using on the laptop when I tested it, just went D-Sub to D-Sub.

Also, could it be an issue residing with the resolution? I'll go check to see if the card supports this res.

Also, Vanu are owning it up on briggs. :p

The adapter could be the problem. Is it possible for you to plug your monitor cable directly to your motherboard without the adapter? If so...do that and see if the problem is there. If the resolution was the problem then just right click on your desktop and change the screen resolution to something smaller.

I can connect it to the motherboard if I want, but then that won't determine if the problem is with the card or the adapter. I could alternatively run a HDMI cable from the card to the screen. I might just dash out and buy one now to see if that will fix it. Or I could use a DVI-D cable because I also have that on my monitor.

Yeah that fixed it. I just went out and bought a HDMI cable over a DVI, purely because I have a tv card in my computer, and it's corrected the issue.

Thanks for the replies Bninga!

No going to a tv they all have 60hz input currently at least the majority do. hdmi 1.4b i believe is the standard to allow higher hz but tv's function a bit differently as they only accept 60hz in but they process to a higher refresh. The quality won't be any different whether you bought a 2 dollar hdmi cable or a 200 dollar hdmi cable. They support the same signal the only difference could be is how far the better shielded one might be able to be run. You could also run a single link hdmi cable to your tv if it has a dvi input and it would be the same as the hdmi just that it won't transfer audio signals.
