CPU overheating ?

My processor temperature reaches a temperature a 70 degrees without any activity ... and reaches 100 degrees for any video conversion etc ., Is this normal ?? Or is my cpu overheating ?

Yeap, it's overheating. That's not normal temperatures. Unless you overclocked it, but 100 degrees, is too much in my opinion.

yes ... it is celsius ... what should I do to bring that temp down ?? My pc is 2 and half years old... thats it

there are a few things.

how is your cable management? if it is all in the way of then fans you do have, that can get in the way.

Is your computer dusty? clean everything including the vents with compressed air.

how big is your case? small, cramped cases can really have your cpu overheat.

how many fans do you have? if you have just one or two, that could be a problem. and also make sure the air is going in the front and out the back.

The biggest things are: do you have an after market cpu cooler, and do you need to redo the thermal paste thats on it?

It's over heating. You need to check the heat sink. If heat sink is not working properly then change it. How many fans do you have. You can also place extra fan in your CPU. This thing can also resolve your problem.

I see a processor fan and a fan that blows the air out ... The CPU is quite dusty ..

Yes i do have a fan. The temp revolves around 67-73 when idle .. CPU is Core 2duo E7500 2.93 ghz
