so i just got the Gigabyte P67A-UD3R-B3 Intel P67 + i5 2500k
For $260

I wanted to ask what would be a good amount of ram / Speed recommended for me ?Thinking around 8gb of ram dual channel. And no im not a hardcore gamer
DDR3-1333/PC3-10600
DDR3-1600/PC3-12800
DDR3-1800/PC3-14400
DDR3-2000/PC3-16000/HIGH-END

2x4GB DDR3-1333 is the general recommendation. More if you plan to do hardcore image/movie editing.

1.5v DDR3 1600 cas 9-9-9-24 2T. Either GSkill Ripjaws X or low profile Corsair Vengeance.

I have the P67A UD4 with a 2600K.

Yeah, but you need to OC it to reach that on a SB platform, which you can do anyway with 1333. It won't do 1600 stock.

The RAM is not getting overclocked it's the IMC on the CPU. And it runs DDR3 1600 just fine either with XMP enabled or the multiplier set to 16x in BIOS.
