looking for an audio driver

hey,ma name are john.
am asking if some one can help me because my computer don't play any sounds.
i was running windows 7 and the sounds were playing,but when i formatted ma PC to windows xp,no sounds playing,and i have an audio driver,but no sound device installed.I downloaded sound max,but during its installation it failed because no HDA audio bus driver.I don't know if you can give me a link to download missing drivers..

Hi, do you have yours MoBo CD? There should be a driver for sound. If not, try to google yours name, for example: Biostar P43D3+. You'll find link to your vendor site, find support or driver download...
Or give us spec of your mobo so some will provide you proper link.

@mironso i have checked my computers manufacture's website and downloaded several drivers but none of them worked.
@LisaGlenn am gonna check this out and see,
thanks to you all.....
