Hiya,

CPU: i7-3770k
Motherboard: Z77 Sabertooth
CPU Voltage: 1.125
CPU Bus Speed/Multiplier: 100*45
Clock Speed: 4.5Ghz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16gb DDR3-1600mhz 9-9-9-24
Cooling: H100i
OS:Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I been testing around with my new setup the past few days to lower the temp. When i started of, i had the cpu voltage at auto wich cause it to go up to 1.3-1.35 volts under full load.

After i noticed that on cpu-z i started to lower it manually towards around 1.25 with the loadline on auto wich kept it pretty much near those settings. Figured from pretty much all guides, and info ive been reading i should start at 1.25V for the cpu. And increase if needed.

Now instead of having to go up i just kept going down. And seems to be running prime95 for the past 2 hours steady at the voltage i set in the link at the start of this post. This is a manual 1.125 volt with no offset drop. Loadlines set at Auto.

Now heres the Actual question :p How is this possible? Or why is it suggested to start at 1.25 volts for that specific cpu.

Toodles, Mushra

I have an ASRock z77 extreme4 and get stupidly low voltage reading on my OC as well. 1.088v @ 4.4ghz. After reading through a bunch of stuff I came to learn that ASRock boards are well known for underestimating voltage levels by up to 0.1v! This HAS to be the case with mine because I get to around 73C running intel burn.

As far as I know Asus is the parent company for ASRock, so you board might be doing something similar to mine.

Aye i thought of that aswell, but wouldnt diffrent programs show a diffrent (true) voltage tho then? As far as i understood from the review about that.

It was the asrock bios wich did it with the fatality and extreme's. But cpu-z and such should show the real voltage.

Not that im complaining about the low volt lol just wondering why :p

I can only speculate that if the MB is sending out bad voltage readings, every program that reads them will be bad as well. I have no technical knowledge of it though
