Is it worth putting an AC filter in line before inputting into a 230v input 25v output transformer?

I am connecting the output of the transformer to a PSU board which will drive several 24v and 12v peripherals. I am nor sure about adding an AC filter as can't see why it would be needed when direct feed into a transformer, unless the transformer would need it.
