best budget graphics card?

Hey all im building a computer for my brother and im trying to decide on what to do for a graphics card for him. I want it to be able to play BF3 with some good headroom for BF4 but i want it to be cheap. im thinking i might give him my GTX 480 and get a radeon for me (which will be more efficient for bitcoin mining lol) so what radeon card would be cheapest, but be able to run all of the current games on ultra with 60 fps (or close to ultra)

There are no graphics cards on earth that would run Crysis 3 on ultra maxed with consistant 60 fps. Even a gtx670 sli or hd7970 cf won't get the job done, heck even a $1000 gtx titan wouldn't do it. And dont even think about bf4 headroom. We don't have anything at the moment that would run those games in ultra and maintain 60fps. Maybe the radeon hd8000 series or the gtx700 would do much better. Your best option would be a hd7970ghz or a gtx670 that would give you close to 60fps with slightly lowered settings but they are not cheap. What is your budget?

Oh wait I just realised you were talking about battlefield 3 NOT crysis3(Im sooo fatigued right now). I guess a gtx660 ti/ hd7870 tahiti/hd7950 would be enough to run that game in ultra but again cant say anything about bf4

figured thatd be the answer for bf4 but was just meaning some room above the recomended specs for bf3 i guess. thanks for the suggestions thats what i was leaning towards, something in that area.

and thank you for the link. very helpful page! i can look for myself now =)
