Problem in starting windows XP

I deleted the contents of the path variable by accident .After that I pasted the basic path needed ,which is like- C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem
I have got 2 OS (XP and win 7) installed on my pc and I have changed the path of XP . so the problem is that Windows XP is unable to start

There are hidden files in the windows folders - you will probably need to reinstall Windows XP to get it to work properly.

When Windows is installed, you have many hidden files, and registry entries required to start up Windows. If any or all of these files are missing, or placed in another folder, it will create issues, as the files won't be found.

before reinstalling the OS I would run a system repair from the XP disc.
