Low fps on good computer

So I have a pretty solid computer and I wanted to start streaming my games. I have noticed several streamers with worse computers than me and no capture card have a steady 60-100 FPS. In a regular game (League of Legends) with most everything set to medium and no streaming or capture program up I average anywhere from 70-120 fps, I used to get a solid 130 fps barely ever dipping. Now when I stream even with my avermedia live gamer capture card I get around 30-60 fps while it feels choppy a lot with big fps drops here and there in team fights. My pc specs are as follows, i7 CPU @ 2.99Ghz , GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 670 2GB GDDR5 PCIe, 16 gb of ram Corsair High Perform Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz2x, 1 TB HD. My download rate is 55mb and upload is from 5-6mb. I have the settings correct on OBS and tried xSplit with correct settings. I think I should be getting much higher fps even when no streaming but hopefully someone can shed some light on this. My friend has an i5 with a similar graphics card and he can pull 200+ fps in League of Legends on the same settings.

I use Happauge USB capture boxes for recording game console footage. I've noticed that the HDD is pounded pretty good while you are recording the stream. Perhaps your friend is recording to a separate HDD or has a SSD? Is your 1 TB HDD the system drive and the drive to which you are recording the stream?

Well I am having low FPS even while not live streaming to twitch.tv to be honest, when I stream though it's even worse and yes I stream live on twitch.tv so I don't actually save any of the captured footage from my pc. When I do though it is on the 1 TB Drive, it's a WD Caviar Black 1TB SATA HD 7200/64MB/SATA-6G. I just don't understand why he can get 200+ fps on league of legends with the exact same settings as me and a far worse PC. This is while not streaming mind you as well.
