Switching from DVI to VGA blind?

Greetings, I am working on an XP machine this afternoon (or would like to be).

It has what looks like a DMS59 DVI-D port (in addition to the VGA), which I am assuming the computer is set to use. I do not have a cable, or monitor for that matter that would work with this. It is currently plugged into a VGA KVM switch. I have tried bypassing the KVM and plugging straight into different monitors using VGA and no luck.

So, is there a keyboard shortcut that would switch the output to VGA without logging in to the computer? It powers on and I assume sits at the login screen while I monkey around with cables.

Thanks!

I think it depends on your motherboard. On my Shuttle XPC SD11G5 I just had to do this (I searched for how to do it on the internet and found your question, before digging out the manual which told me).

It says:
Ctrl-Alt-F1: Monitor (VGA)
Ctrl-Alt-F2: TV
Ctrl-Alt-F4: DVI.

Hope that helps!
