Hi all,
I recently built a pc with various components (listed below) from eBay/Amazon. Having assembled the PC I got one beep but no splash screen on monitor.

Also when I inserted a USB containing Linux Mint (My ubuntu wouldn't detect at all) it would only run when the HDD and SSD were not connected.

Thanks in advance for any help.

System Specs:
MB: Asus Sabertooth Z77 - eBay
CPU: Intel i5 3570K - eBay
PSU: Corsair HX850W - eBay
RAM: Corsair Vengance 1600mhz 8gb - Amazon
SSD: Sandisk Pulse 128GB - eBay
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB - Amazon

So you can't get into your bios? Did you plug in the cpu power and 24 pin power?

Yes, both are plugged in and BIOS is not accessable.

When you inserted the usb, did you make your usb the primary boot drive? If not then this is why you had to take out the HDD and SSD to boot from usb.
Make sure that your GPU, ram and wire connections are inserted properly.

I'm using the CPU's graphics and I have triple checked connections. I also can't enter bios to set it as primary boot unless there is another way?

Take out the ram and reinsert and do the same with the other connections, make sure there is no dust on the connections.

Start with the bare min to run the system to reduce number of items that could fail.

One HDD.
One stick of ram
If the mainboard has video do not install a addtional GPU.

Start system.

The manual will list error code or beep codes. And tell you how to enter the bios.

When you get it up and running add one item at a time and test.
