Not sure if this is the right area, but I am looking to buy the WinTV-HVR1250 PCIE Low Profile tv tuner card, does anybody have this card up and running in a windows 7 pc? If not, I need a low profile, dual tuner PCIe card that supports both digital and analog. I assume dual tuner will allow me to watch one channel while recording another channel, or record two channels at once. If helpful, I guess the digital aspect could be optional, but I would prefer it not be.

Are you going to use the card for over-the-air signal, cable or digital cable signals? Over-the-air and standard cable signals (non-encrypted) will work for that card. If you are looking for digital cable and/or encrypted cable signals, you will need a digital cable card tuner like the SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime or Ceton Echo.

If you are doing a lot of TV/recording - you might want to consider an external card - I had issues with a similar card producing a lot of heat while watching TV.

I use the SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime - and love the card....all my cable boxes are gone.

Hi, thanks for responding, I decided to go with the 01213 model of the 2250. My cousin who lives in New York has it, and he was satisfied with it. To answer your question, the landlord doesn't have the most basic package, but none of us have cable boxes, just the coax cable going into the back of the TV. Before my cable company started going digital, I had 53 channels. The ones that went digital aren't major channels that I watch, but I have a feeling that this time next year all their channels will be digital. If it helps, I am with Rogers in Toronto Ontario Canada, my current card works great with it, but it isn't low profile, the cable connector isn't the type where you screw the coax cable on to it, and of course I can only watch or record 1 show at a time. I haven't bought the card yet, I wanted to do some research on it first. As for it being external, don't you need something called a cable card? We don't have that here!

Hi, thanks for the reply, I decided to get the model 01213 of the 2250 instead. I haven't bought it yet, and am doing research on it. I live in Toronto Ontario Canada, and I have a feeling that this time next year, all of our channels will be digital. As for the non digital channels, my current card works fine with it, but I can only watch or record one show at a time with it.
