msi gtx 660 ti oc power edition - high GPU Temperature

PSU OCZ 550W, Intel Core i5 2500k, 16mb RAM, Asrock H67M motherboard. This card is NOT overclocked in any way. Problem, even with the fan operating at 100% (using MSI Afterburner) many games cause the GPU temperature to hit 97 degrees centigrade within 10 minutes. The GPU temp only reduces when the game is exited. Far Cry 3 and Dead Island are 2 examples of where this happens

  1. Does your case have adequate cooling? Also see if your GPU has dust on the fans and heatsink as this can increase temp.

Will have a look at case cooling fan. The card is supposed to deal with dust (reverse spin on startup) but will check this as well, thanks.
  3. Also if your case is dusty get an air duster, http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=air%20duster&sprefix=air+d%2Celectronics&rh=i%3Aelectronics%2Ck%3Aair%20duster

Use it with a vaccum cleaner to collect the dust once it is off your system.
