Hi,

I recently upgraded my os from genuine/licensed windows 7 home basic to pirated Windows 7 ultimate. I badly needed to have it restored to it's previous home basic version. I have the product key sticker at the back of my laptop. How can I restore it back? Anyone can help me on this? I will appreciate and I really needed it immediately

More about : windows home basic

Thank you, but where can I see the make and model, did you mean the computer I am using and I am referring to as having some problems?

If they formatted the drive when win7 ultimate was installed the repair partition probably isn't there anymore. You might need to find a copy of win7 home basic and install it. You probably also need an HP edition of it. You might need to go to HP and order a set of disks.

OEMs like HP usually have a recovery partition on the hdd. You need to look on their site for instructions on how to use it. There will be some key combo you need to press while it boots up to boot from the other partition.
