ok when i sell my laptop and add some money i'll hopefully have enough money to buy a build like this and i'd like to ask a question or two:

1) MSI B75A-G41 motherboard
2) I5 3470
3) Patriot G2 kit,1333Mhz,8GB
4) WD Caviar Blue 1TB
5) CORSAIR Power Supply, Builder Series CX 80+ Bronze, 600 Watt
6) Sapphire 7950 Flex

ok so 600w power supply should be enough right?
the difference between z77 and b75 chipset?
processor, while it may not be the best i5,also seems to be ok for me?
do i need more expensive 1600mhz ram kit?
the graphics card can barely fit in my budget and i think that if i'll decide to change anything in my build i will rather go with 7870,so can anyone tell me how much a difference will these two be? i'm not seeking for best performance right now but a build that will be able to run games at let's say high settings for next 4 yrs. or so ;)

Looks like a decent build. 600w is plenty. I am not a fan of MSI's motherboards...I would go with one from ASRock as they are quality boards for a good price. As you can get a z77 board from them for pretty cheap, that's what I would go with. It has more options than the b75. Your cpu will be just fine. 1600mhz memory is not much more, I would stick with that speed (CAS 9). The 7870 is a great card for the money. I don't think it will game on high for four years though (most cards probably won't anyway). Have you thought about adding an SSD? I would not build a PC these days without one. I recommend Samsungs.

i have actually thought about the ssd,but to keep everything under budget and following your advices i'd have to make some changes:

1. i would go with 7870 (i was thinking between msi or sapphire ghz edition, any suggestions?)
2. i would add the ssd
3. i would try to get a z77 motherboard without adding much money
4. and i'll change motherboard to be a asrock one

ok one thing more to ask would it be possible for me to get the ssd and then use my external hdd as main storage..i have never seen someone doing that but since i have a ext. hdd it could be a good idea right?

ok one more thing i've noticed gigabyte GF GTX660 OC can also be fit in the budget so i'm wondering to go with that or 7870 instead? and also what's the difference between modular and standard psu?
