would the gtx 670 run off a 500w psu considering that i fully oc my 6950 and i have had no isues

well if the psu is a good quality unit with a robust 12V rail it should be just fine. What is the brand and model of the psu?

its an xigmatec 500w im not sure how to check the rails

there should be a sticker on the side of the psu listing all the ratings for different rails etc.
I'll google it up as well...
edit there are far too many 500W units made by xigmatek, need more info :)  check the sticker

well it lists two 12V rails with 15 and 16amps, too bad it doesn't say the actuall combined wattage for them both, typically it is less than what you get by just adding them up, so the rated is below 372W... and this review doesn't look too good either

the unit exploded when drawing 14 amps from both rails! 0.o ouch

You would been pushing it pretty hard.. and have been already. So not sure what to say really, if the rest of the rig isnt a power hog it might still work since the difference between the cards isnt that great but it would be a bit risky...

cool thanks . i guess i need to buy a new psu before my one explodes XD . I THINK A CORSAIR TX850M should do the job and be future proof . and again thanks for the help.
