Hello all,

This is my first time actually posting on the forum but I've read a lot of the stuff and am really hoping someone can help me out. I'm also fairly sure this is in the wrong thread but I'm not sure the actual issue at this point.

I’ve recently run into an issue with my machine that I cannot explain so I’m hoping someone out there can help me out. Within the last month I have been experiencing what I can only consider to be miniature freezes. My music will stall out, the game will get crazy jumpy then disconnect and vent’s ping will shoot up to like 20k. At first I thought this was an internet issue however even offline the computer will freeze with the mouse jumping and dragging as well as my music.

This is my setup:

Intel Core i5 3570
ASUSTeK model P8Z77-V LK motherboard
16 gb DDR3 ram
Nvideia GTX 660 Ti
ENERMAX NAXN ADV. 82+ ETL550AWT 550W ATX12V

I run 2 monitors, Naga epic and g15 keyboard and a corsair H55 cpu coolant and I have no idea why my computer would be freezing like it does. I have monitored CPU-Z during the spikes and have not seen anything that would indicate overheating but I’m not extremely PC savvy with the little things so I may be missing something.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem, but a different cause and solution: power leakage.
I had placed my tower on a carpet, and the solution was placing it on isolating material. Sounds stupid, but normally a tower shouldn't be affected by being placed on carpet. But i suspect my pc is just a bit leaky (i also had front USB interference).

I had loops of these mini-freezes every second or so for ~0.1 seconds where basically all cpu activity would halt, the mouse freeze and then jump after the freeze, and the sound stutter and make terrible buzzing sounds that you get when the sound buffer isn't refreshed.
I googled for solutions for weeks, but nothing worked, until i noticed that when i lifted the tower from the floor with my knew, the freezes stopped.
I had tried everything, isolating the problem, using different power connectors, plugs, testing RAM (no errors found), exchanging RAM, unplugging hard disks and burners, pretty much everything.
Most bizarre PC problem I ever had, and i'm a computer scientist (*cough*).

I know this is an old thread, but maybe some other Googler will thank me!
