Crosshair V Formula, no heatsink bracket, not POSTing?

Hi,

First time using AMD stuff, so this might be a bone question, BUT:

I got a Crosshair V Formula (ex review) for cheap, and I've matched it up with an AMD bulldozer and a bunch of average high-spec components. Assembled the whole lot, but when I turn it on, I get the CPU q-light. Checked all the connections, the CPU mount, even acquired a new BIOS chip to ensure the Bulldozer is supported. No dice, same problem.

Now, I'm thinking the problem might be the bracket that the CPU cooler is meant to mount on -- it isn't there. I've improvised a solution using cable ties that holds the cooler in place perfectly, but I noticed that the holes for the bracket have connectors on them. Therefore, could the problem be the lack of bracket, causing the CPU to not be recognised or something?

Any help would be much appreciated -- I just don't want to go to the bother of tracking down another mount, just for it to be totally pointless if there's a deeper problem with my setup or mobo.

Regards,

Chris
