Hello everyone,

I bought a Samsung PRO SSD about a month ago on newegg
that is now suddenly not being detected by my computer.

I currently have two SSD's but the PRO version (512GB) one does
not allow my computer to boot when it is plugged in. I'm not sure if it is dead as
it just started malfunctioning today. I have important data on there and I would
like to ask for any kind of assistance in this matter. The older SSD that I have is still working fine and contains the OS of my computer.

In the past I noticed the SSD PRO would lose contact with the computer
after it went to sleep.

I would appreciate any help I can get as I have all my music in that drive
and I don't think it is actually dead.

ouch it seems a component in SSD is Failing(maybe an IC or something), i would suggest let an expert(PC Technician or Data Recovery Tech) take a look.

SSD drive store the data in the electric component (just like USB FlashDrive/Pendrive) so if a component fail's(and they do) your gonna have a hard time recovering it.

a hard drive they store data in a "magnetic platter", when an electrical component fail the data is still "safely in the platter" and they can swap the damage electrical component with a...

I have done that before but it is not detected in device management. It is however detected under disc drives
in Device manager but when I right click and select properties it says No drivers are installed for this device.
The BIOS still doesn't detect it and whenever I have it plugged in to a SATA 6 port it wont let my computer boot up.
I have to have it connected to a SATA 3 port in order for my computer to boot.

I want to use that program you suggested but I can't point it to the SSD since it is not detected in disc management.

Yeah, I think I'm just going to cut my losses and ask for a replacement from Samsung. I believe it has
a 5 year warranty and this drive died after one month. Have you had any experience with their
return/replacement warranty service?

Just came back to say thanks. It's been a while since I've been on here but Samsung did replace the SSD a few days after and the replacement seems to be working fine for almost two months now. Thanks again qazzi

Hey chuametelo

You'll have to email jvillacis@totalts.com to get a replacement for your SSD drive. If you go the official SAMSUNG website they'll direct you to email that guy.

Email him about your problem with the SSD and he'll ask for your info and eventually send you
a UPS code to mail your SSD given that someone in the US can do that for you. Again you can
email the official SAMSUNG website if you are wary but they'll just tell you to email jvillacis@totalts.com with anything concerning SSD replacements or problems.

Let me know how it goes. Service is fairly quick, I don't think he looks at emails weekends though.
